Develop Training Limited (DTL) regularly works with some of the biggest names in the utilities and construction sectors and has now won even more electrical training work with household name BT.
The training company, which has centres across England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, first began working with BT in 2014 providing streetworks and confined spaces training.
Now the arrangement has been extended to include an introductory course on electricity for BT apprentices, as well as working with BT on a plan to support the implementation of the new IET 18th Edition electrical wiring regulations to their engineers.
Other new additions to the BT contract cover training on:
Safety, health and environmental awareness in telecommunications (SHEA)
The F-Gas standard for working with fluorinated gases and other ozone-depleting substances
The G39/1 regulations for working near DNO equipment such as overhead power lines.
Chris Wood, DTL’s Chief Executive, said: “Our relationship with BT is flourishing, and it is very rewarding to see our customer not only extending their existing training provision with us but also adding new courses and capabilities to the scope of our work together. We’re excited to work with BT on this programme of training and look forward to what our thriving relationship will bring in the future.”
DTL provides apprenticeships and training to everyone from operatives through to management for some of the biggest names in the construction and utilities sectors, helping to address skills shortages across the industry.
Recently, the company has set up new training courses in response to the 18th Edition IET wiring regulations. Its flagship three-day training course for those responsible for designing, installing and maintaining electrical systems, is attracting organisations such as BT who need to support their engineers to attain a qualification in the new regulations before the deadline. The company are also offering a one-day refresher course for those who have undertaken 17th Edition training within the last 6 months for only £175.
