Markel to Acquire ECIC

Markel International, the specialist insurer, plans to acquire EC Insurance (ECIC), whose ultimate parent is the Electrical Contractors’ Association.
ECIC provides a wide range of insurance products for contractors and affinity groups across the UK building services sector.
Contracts for the sale have been signed, following approval by the Council, the ECA’s ultimate decision making body.
Subject to approvals from the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority, the deal is expected to complete in the final quarter of this year.
